Case Study: Alaska Buildings

SE1

Alaska Buildings 1 Alaska Buildings 2 Alaska Buildings 3

Originally a factory built in 1869 for treating Alaskan seal fur, the white art deco tower and extension was added in the 1930s by Wallis Gilbert and Partners, who also designed the Hoover Building.

The factory closed in the 1960s and was re-developed into offices until it was converted for residential use in the 1990s.

We were appointed to apply the Dulux Weathershield system to all external elevations. We accessed the building using electrically powered cradles, which were moved around the building as we worked.
